Our Mission
The Matt Brown Foundation is a committed 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and assist groups, individuals, and families living with or recovering from illness or injury with a particular emphasis on paralysis.
We bring together resources, advocacy, and a powerful community to uplift those impacted by spinal cord injuries, proving that no one has to face this journey alone.
About MBF
Founded in 2020, the Matt Brown Foundation was created to give back to individuals and families navigating the challenges of paralysis. Through unwavering community support, the foundation has surpassed $300,000 in grants, funding accessible vehicles, home modifications, and essential equipment for those in need.
With 18,000 spinal cord injuries occurring annually, the need for support is greater than ever. Our mission remains the same: to make each day a little easier for those facing paralysis.
Grant Application
A spinal cord injury can cost over $1 million in the first year alone, with ongoing expenses exceeding $150,000 annually. While insurance covers some costs, many families face overwhelming financial challenges.
The Matt Brown Foundation's Quality of Life Grant Program provides essential funding for accessible vehicles, home modifications, and adaptive equipment, helping individuals regain independence. Since 2020, we've awarded over $300,000 in grants to those battling paralysis.
Matt’s Story
In 2010, Matt Brown suffered a spinal cord injury during a high school hockey game, but he refused to let it define him. Determined to push forward, he graduated on time, earned a communications degree from Stonehill College, and became a motivational speaker, sharing his journey of resilience and perseverance.
